2019 was a remarkable year of reporting and achievement for HelloCov.
It was the first full year for HelloCov since being founded in September 2018, allowing for growth data to be analysed and more accurately reported.
Some of the most notable moments of 2019 were:
- HelloCov officially became Coventry’s most engaged with Instagram account, gaining more than 100,000 interactions on Instagram alone over the 12-months.
- HelloCov became apart of Oozells Publications, which enabled them to quadruple their team from one person to four.
- Recorded more than 400,000 website visitors over the 12-month period on their brand new website, developed with built-in accessibility features.
- Grew the publication’s regional reach, with more readers in the surrounding cities of Warwick and Leamington Spa, as well as the wider West Midlands.
The year saw HelloCov partner with some of the region’s most progressive organisations and interesting individuals, to spread the work they are doing, from national charities and global companies, to small businesses and independent brands.
The Year Ahead
The year ahead is set to be a great one for not only HelloCov but the whole of Coventry, as the city gears up for the City of Culture status in 2021.
To start the year, and in line with Oozells’ transparency pledge, HelloCov will begin to publish detailed analysis of the publication’s performance in terms of readership figures, website visitor numbers and social engagement statistics. These reports will be published quarterly, with the first report being made available at the start of Q2 2020.
A spokesperson for HelloCov said: “It’s absolutely crucial we stay committed to our transparency pledge, especially in a culture of sensationalism and ‘fake news’ in much of the media. These quarterly reports will help our readers, partners and advertisers better understand how we distribute our work and give a clear insight into who our readers are.”
